The new station, which supervisor Peter Barber says will be equal distance between the two locations, is to be built near the town-owned golf course, with access to both routes 20 and 146.

A few households are using five or six times the water a typical home would use, Supervisor Peter Barber told the town board at its Feb. 15 meeting. “Everybody else is subsidizing these overages,” he said.

The Elliott House Thrift Shop in Norton Hill will be open for the 2022 season beginning Wednesday, March 16.
The hours are Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The shop is closed in inclement weather.

ALTAMONT — William J. Smith III was a hardworking man who held many jobs over the years to provide for his wife and son. “Family came first,” said his son, William James Smith IV.
Mr. Smith “went home to be with his Heavenly Father” on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, his family wrote in a tribute.  He was 88.
