Five Rivers Outdoor Day. 56 Game Farm Road, Delmar. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event marks DEC's first Outdoor Day, where visitors will have the opportunity to try outdoor activities first-hand, such as hiking, bird watching, and fishing.

Music and nature: Join the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy and the Albany Symphony for an outdoor reception and light refreshments before a performance by the brass musicians of the Albany Symphony, conducted by David Alan Miller. Generously hosted by Stewart Myers at his historic home in Rensselaerville, the evening will also include guided walks through the lawns, fields, and gardens of the Daniel Conkling House, a restored 1806 Federal mansion. Helderberg History Walk at Thacher Park. 10 a.m. Join historian Tim Albright on a hike through time in the Helderbergs. Meet at the new Thacher Visitor Center for an introduction, and then head out for an easy walk sprinkled with interesting tales of days gone by. Call 872-0800 to register.

Dutch Settlers Society of Albany will hold their annual meeting and luncheon 10 a.m. to noon at the Knickerbocker Mansion, 132 Knickerbocker Rd., Schaghticoke.
