“Schenectady Day Nursery Fall Chicken BBQ Fundraiser” on Friday, Sept. 14, from 4 – 6:30 pm with drive thru, takeout at Zion Lutheran Church, 153 Nott Terrace in Downtown Schenectady. The fundraiser will benefit Schenectady Day Nursery’s Nutrition Program. “Little John’s BBQ,” will prepare a menu that includes a half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, and corn bread. Bethlehem Grange Garage Sale, which will be held on two consecutive weekends — Sept. 7 and 8 and Sept. 14 and 15. Due to a busy summer, the American Legion in Altamont is postponing its flag burning ceremony. A new date will be announced later this month. Drop off flags at the back of the American Legion building, 988 Altamont Boulevard in Altamont, in a large mailbox labeled “disposable flag drop.”
