Snowshoe Hike for Adults on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11:00 am. Suitable for adults. Have you tried snowshoeing? The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is a great place to get started with this fun sport. Join us for a 0.9-mile hike on snowshoes. We’ll explore the frozen landscape of the pine barrens and learn the basics of snowshoeing. Snowshoes will be provided to program participants. If there is not enough snow on the ground, we will hike without snowshoes. Location: Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center, 195 New Karner Road, Albany, NY. Fee: Free!

Sunday, December 23 Children’s Christmas pageant at 9:45 worship The children and youth at Lynnwood will help us see and imagine the beauty of the Christ child as they lead us in a live performance. Monday, December 24, 7:00pm Candlelight Christmas eve service A wonderful celebration of the night on which Christ was born. The evening will hold scripture lessons, cherished carols, prayers of hope, candle lighting, and more.

The Friendship Singers of Delmar will present a free Christmas 2018 public concert at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church at 2010 New Scotland Avenue in Slingerlands, on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 7 pm. There’ll be something for everyone—from old favorites (some in surprising form!) and sing-alongs to the haunting strains of Robert Frost’s “Stopping By Woods,” set to music.  Our director is Marie Liddle, accompanist Peg Dorgan, and percussionist Jeff Marshall.

Santa will be visiting the neighborhoods within the coverage area of the Guilderland Fire Department on Sunday, Dec. 16. He and his elves will leave the fire house at 11 a.m. and plans to finish by 3 p.m. the truck will play very loud music, so that boys and girls can hear him coming. Please be on the lookout.
