On Sunday, Feb. 2, the Guilderland competitive cheer squad took to the mat at Scotia-Glenville High School for the 24th annual Scotia-Glenville Spirit Invitational in the Class A division. Guilderland showed off its acrobatics and team spirit, finishing in second place.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, in a Sectional-type atmosphere, Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Voorheesville battled on the court for the Helderberg Cup at Clayton A. Bouton High School. It was a physical matchup all game long as the Bulldogs pulled out a 58-to-51 win, securing the Helderberg Cup.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Voorheesville girls’ basketball hosted Berne-Knox-Westerlo in the second game of the Helderberg Cup. Voorheesville won the first matchup and on Saturday had to fight a late charge against the Bulldogs to win, 58 to 46, and take the Helderberg Cup.

On Friday, Jan. 31, the Storm hockey team traveled to the Albany County Hockey Facility to battle the Christian Brothers Academy on a snowy evening. The Storm started slow but in the last two periods picked up the pressure but ultimately fell, 5 to 4.

Last Thursday, Jan. 30, the Guilderland-Voorheesville swim team hosted its Senior Night as the swimmers thanked their four seniors as the team took on Ballston Spa. Guilderville dominated from the first event, winning, 92 to 79. Isak Brkanovic broke the 200-yard freestyle pool record.
