This past weekend, June 13 to 16, members from Guilderland and Voorheesville track teams traveled to Philadelphia for the New Balance Nationals being held at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday, June 10, the Guilderland girls’ track team, after winning the federation title, were greeted by faculty and classmates that lined the halls of the school to cheer and clap for their milestone.

On Tuesday, June 10, Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s AJ Wright and Mackenzie Lawrence both signed the National Letter of Intent to play collegiately at their college in the fall.

On Saturday, June 8, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo softball team took to the field at Martha Avenue Recreational Park in Bellport as they took on Bombers from Bloomfield, from Section 5, in the Class C state championship game.

On Friday and Saturday, June 7 & 8, the track teams from Guilderland, Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Voorheesville battled against New York State's best in track and field in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

Last Thursday, June 6, before the BKW softball team headed down to Long Island to compete in the NYSPHSAA softball tournament, they stopped by the East Berne Firehouse for a quick bite with family and friends before being escorted off the hill.

On Sunday and Monday, June 2 and 3, Guilderland’s Hanna Mitchell and Jane Fanning competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s girls’ golf competition at The Edison Club in Rexford. They were part of Section 2 state championship team.

On Saturday, June 1, the Voorheesville girls’ lacrosse team traveled up to Queensbury High School for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association regional final as they took on the Bronxville Broncos out of Section 1.

Last Thursday and Friday, May 30 and 31, track athletes from Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville took to the track at Guilderland High School in hopes to compete at the state competition this coming weekend in Syracuse.

Last Wednesday, May 29, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo softball traveled to Plattsburgh to take on Ticonderoga in the Class C regional semifinal. Bulldogs dominated to win 10-1 then went on to face St. Lawrence in the regional final on Saturday and won 14-0.
