Arthur Waugh

GUILDERLAND — Arthur “Arty” Waugh, a longtime Guilderland art teacher and legendary coach, died at St. Peter’s Hospital on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Lucille B. Kellie

ALTAMONT —  Lucille B. (née Shafer) Kellie, known as “Susie,” died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. She was 79.

She was the cherished wife of Robert Kellie, loving mother of Lisa, and beloved grandmother of Drew and Katie.

Harold “Hal” Miller died on May 4, 2022, following by just a few months the death of his husband, Ed Davidson.

“Hal had Parkinson’s for a number of years,” his friend, John Williams, wrote in a tribute, “but his health took a dramatic downturn in recent weeks.

Lynnette Collier Sands

Lynnette Collier Sands, who loved the natural world and who took extreme joy in being a grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in her sleep at her home in Los Gatos, California. She was 69.

ALTAMONT — Walter Joseph Thatcher, who served in Korea, played in big bands, and worked in the family building business, died on Dec. 7, 2021 in his Altamont home. He was 93.

RENSSELAERVILLE — Roger P. “Rog” Winn Sr., a jack-of-all-trades who was generous to his family and friends, died on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. He was 74.

He was born on Jan. 24, 1948, a son of the late Loren and Nellie Winn.

Priscilla Schaap

EAST BERNE — Priscilla Schaap of East Berne, a baker and cake decorator who loved her family, died peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospital. She was 64.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1957, to the late Morris and Anna Willsey of Berne.

Dennis C. McDermott

WESTERLO — Dennis C. McDermott, who enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow, died on Friday, May 13, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was 74.
He was born in Catskill on Sept. 9, 1947 to the late Charles and Mildred Furman McDermott. He was raised in Knox, and then settled in Westerlo with his family.

KNOX — Robert H. Moons, longtime resident of Knox, died on Feb. 12, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

ALTAMONT — Reginald D. Flansburg of Altamont, a mason who built his own stone house, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was 80.

He was born in Albany on Jan. 26, 1942 to the late Donald and Emily (née Pospitical) Flansburg.

Betty Allen Spadaro

Betty Spadaro wrote these words herself, according to Michael G. Angiolillo, her long-time friend who is director of the funeral home in White Hall, New York.

Louise A. Taranto

GUILDERLAND —  Louise A. Taranto, who loved being a mother, died peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Teresian House. She was 89.

She was one of six children born in Norwich, New York to the late Michael and Julia Martin.

Richard Cox

GUILDERLAND — Richard Cox, formerly of Guilderland, died on Sunday, May 1,  2022, at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Florida with family at his side.

Walter J. Fisher Sr.

VOORHEESVILLE — Walter J. Fisher Sr. of Voorheesville, a veteran who loved his grandchildren, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at St. Peter’s Hospital. He was 92.

Mark G. Haines of Gloversville, who loved his home and anything with a motor, died on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was 65.
