The coronavirus pandemic is affecting Crossgates’ bottom line. 

The age group with the highest number of cases, at 480, remains those between the ages 20 to 29. Albany County Health Commissioner Elizabeth Whalen said she is concerned about that age group “in terms of spread and in terms of more potential infection.”

GUILDERLAND — The state’s Department of Transportation will hold an online public hearing on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 5 p.m. to discuss plans to redesign the intersection of Route 146 (Carman Road) and Lydius Street in Guilderland into a one-lane roundabout.

In discussing its goals, as ideas popped liked fireworks, the Guilderland School Board focused on social justice. The board plans to formalize its goals at its Aug. 11 meeting.

A state audit has revealed that Knox Town Clerk Traci Schanz failed to deposit more than 300 fee collections within the legally required timeframes and made reporting errors that left the town with an unremitted cash balance of more than $3,000, according to a report from the Office of the New York State Comptroller. Schanz said she is grateful for what she learned from the audit and new procedures have been put in place.

Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy revealed that an antibody test showed he had had COVID-19 in December or January when he was traveling out-of-state. He added, “It doesn’t mean I can’t get it again … so I am cautious.”
