Seven Guilderland athletes held their own on Saturday as they competed with the best track-and-field athletes across New York State in the state championships at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
One critical shot or one mistake can lead a team to winning or losing when battling in sectional play to get closer to the finals. The Guilderland girls faced off against top-seeded Saratoga last Thursday at Saratoga High School.
Athletes from Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Guilderland took their talents to the state level this past weekend in wrestling, at Albany’s Times Union Center, on Friday and in gymnastics, at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island on Saturday.
