One critical shot or one mistake can lead a team to winning or losing when battling in sectional play to get closer to the finals. The Guilderland girls faced off against top-seeded Saratoga last Thursday at Saratoga High School. Guilderland fell in the Class AA sectional quarterfinals, 79 to 54. The Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls went toe to toe with top-seeded Cambridge, the defending state champions in Class C, on Tuesday evening at Colonie High School. The Bulldogs, too, fell, 84 to 36.
