EAST BERNE — Cahal Dunne, a singer, pianist, and entertainer, will be performing at Maple on the Lake in East Berne, Sunday, Aug. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m.

This will be the third time Dunne will perform at the restaurant; his performances have been organized by longtime Berne resident Peggy Warner.

SCHOHARIE — For the 42nd autumn, an Antiques in Schoharie show will be held on the grounds of the Schoharie Valley Railroad Museum. This year, the show is Sept. 16 and 17 — open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and open on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

ALBANY — Free tours of both the State Education Building and the Capitol will be given on the second Saturday of each month, starting Aug. 12.

VOORHEESVILLE — Cornell Cooperative Extension is offering a seven-week basic obedience class for owners and their dogs, with the opportunity for the dogs to be certified as canine good citizens by an American Kennel Club evaluator at the end of the course.

GUILDERLAND — Flutist Kathleen O’Mara will perform Claude Bolling’s “Sentimentale” accompanied by the Guilderland Town Band, July 13, at 7:30 at the Guilderland Performing Arts Center in Tawasentha Park. This is the second concert of the band’s 48th season.

A Huge Summer Book Sale — with between 35,000 to 40,000 titles to choose from, both fiction and non-fiction — will be held this month at Grace United Methodist Church at 16 Hillcrest Drive in Ravena.

There will also be a mini-rummage sale, and breakfast and lunch will be available.
