One of the larger historical homes in Guilderland has been rezoned from single-family residential to business non-retail professional, to help the owners, who have been trying to sell it for years, find a buyer.

Faced with two controversial planning issues this year that brought crowds to village board meetings, Voorheesville now has a 14-member committee that is working on a comprehensive land-use plan, which the village board hopes will be completed within a year.

A bill that would enlist the financial help of the state to provide legal services for the poor is currently awaiting the final step of being signed or vetoed by the governor.
