GUILDERLAND — A team of 11 Guilderland Martial Arts students will compete in the 2016 USA Taekwondo National Championships in Richmond, Virginia from July 3 to 10.

The 8-year-old said he would go to San Diego for Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit and Run national competition — and he is.

The first tournament that the Under 8s played in was in Rhode Island in November. The team lost three games and won none.

NEW SCOTLAND — The Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County 4-H Shooting Sports Program will offer a shooting sports session at the Cornell Cooperative Extension building in Voorheesville.

Getting to states, in Syracuse, is the ultimate goal for runners and field-event athletes. Local athletes first had to succeed at the State Qualifiers at Shenendehowa High School on June 2 and 3.

On Friday and Saturday, Guilderland and Berne-Knox-Westerlo state qualifiers battle to win a state title in their respective events at Cicerco-North Syracuse High School in Cicero.

Guilderland's Unified basketball team battled Shaker in the regular season finale at Shaker last Thursday, May 26.

Guilderland girls' lacrosse battled Shaker for the Class A Section 2 title on Wednesday evening, June 1. It was the Dutch's tenth straight year in the championship game.

GUILDERLAND — Taylor Dubose, a Guilderland High School lacrosse standout, has completed his senior year at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts where he has been a member of the Men's Lacrosse Program for all four years.
