Boys’ sectional basketball quarterfinals heated up for the Voorheesville Blackbirds on Feb.

The Bulldogs' season ended with a squeaker in the semifinals at the Glens Falls Civic Center on Monday. Lake George scored in the last nine seconds to eek out a one-point win, 55 to 54.

Guilderland Varsity Cheerleaders were back in top form on Feb. 20 at the Section 2 championships at Guilderland High School.

Nine local wrestlers — five from Guilderland and four from Berne-Knox-Westerlo — wanted their tickets punched last weekend at the Glens Falls Civic Center to head to the Times Union Center in Albany for a state championship on Feb. 26 and 27. 

Guilderland’s varsity gymnastics team battled in sectionals on Feb. 10  at Shaker High School to get a spot in the state tournament on Feb. 27. 

Guilderland Senior Taylor Dorado signed her letter of intent for Siena soccer on Feb. 6.

Getting one step closer to battling for a New York State title was on the minds of Guilderland wrestlers last Saturday at Ballston Spa High School for the Class A championships.

Summer Smith died of a drug overdose. Her mother is organizing a May 14 run that will start at her daughter's alma mater, Guilderland High School.

Emily Rose Center, who played soccer for Guilderland High School, plays now on the Manhattan College team. Last fall, she made the Division 1 all-rookie all-star team for women’s soccer in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for Manhattan College.
