Blame the real culprits — Lefkaditis and Saddlemire
To the Editor:
Last week, several letters submitted to The Enterprise bemoaned the fact that Ken Saddlemire would have to run as a write-in candidate in the upcoming election.
One letter tried to blame the Democratic and Republican parties for causing this to happen, and then claimed Saddlemire to be a candidate for change.
Missing in all of this is the simple fact that, after Ken Saddlemire secured the Republican Party line, Vasilios Lefkaditis then attempted to have Ken Saddlemire, his apparent handpicked candidate, also secure the Democrat Party line.
If successful, this would have allowed Ken Saddlemire to run unopposed and would have forced Dan Hanley to be a write-in candidate. However, Lefkaditis’s scheme totally backfired.
So, please place the blame on the real culprits — Vasilios Lefkaditis for attempting to eliminate any competition, and Ken Saddlemire, for allowing Lefkaditis to go through with it. We don’t need this kind of change.
