The only appointment that engendered discussion was the new attorney, Janet Thayer, and the controversy centered not on her person nor her professionalism but rather on the process used to select her.
The Parlor will be celebrating the release of their album, “You Are Love and I Am You,” at Indian Ladder Farms on Saturday, May 21, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. The event will also be the soft opening of Indian Ladder Farms’ new beer garden.
After the results were in, Superintendent Marie Wiles told The Enterprise, “I am delighted — in particular for Farnsworth Middle School and their enormous class sizes.”
On Saturday, May 13, the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team played in a regular season finale at Shaker High School as they battled with the Blue Bison. Shaker didn’t allow the Dutch time and space all game long and the Dutch fell, 12 to 2.
On Friday, May 12, the Guilderland boys’ tennis team kicked off its sectional play at home in a first-round matchup against Colonie. Guilderland won, 7 to 2, against Colonie but fell 8 to 1 to top-seeded Bethlehem.
“We did have a little bit of a dip in proficiency level from pre-pandemic,” said Rachel Anderson of Guilderland students’ test scores. This was typical across the state and nation.
The library has negotiated new contracts with its union employees. Raises were needed, according to the library’s director, Timothy Wiles, because salaries were higher at other local libraries, making recruiting and retention difficult.
