Alphonzo Hicks Jr. was unable to complete field sobriety tests and, according to the police report, registered a blood alcohol content of .27.

GUILDERLAND – Julie Foley had a passion for teaching and was a pioneer for girls’ sports. She died on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at St. Peter’s Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with mesothelioma. She was 77.

Mrs. Foley was born in Albany, the daughter of the late John and Berneice (née Weisel) Fallon.

Foodplay, sponsored by Hannaford Supermarkets, is being staged at 35 schools throughout the Northeast to promote healthy eating.

Our father, Ed Stumpf, died on April 22, 2014. He worked for 35 years as an insurance adjuster; was a husband, father, and grandfather; but above all he was a Westmere fireman. He was a lifelong resident of Westmere after serving in World War II.

Lillian Lorraine Yonally loved the freedom of flying and, now in her 90s, has fond and vivid recollections of the pilots — all women — she trained and flew with during World War II.
