Dutch tennis won its third straight title last week, and fourth in five years.

It's a three-peat for the Dutchmen tennis team.

In the last week, veterans were acknowledged and fallen soldiers were remembered in separate ceremonies in Altamont, for Loyalty Day and the Memorial Day parade.

"It still comes out to about five to seven dollars an hour," Nivene Rophael said of cake-making profits. "I'm very detail-oriented."

Nivene Rophael has been making cakes completely by hand, customized for their occasions, from her home ever since she saw the price tag of a Finding Nemo cake for her son's birthday.

Fazana Ismail says kids who help out at her birthday parties for homeless children come to realize "These kids are just like them."

The two top vote-getters on Tuesday, Christine Hayes and Seema Rivera, are friends and sister graduates of Guilderland.

Guilderland teachers hosted a roadside rally on May 15 to coincide with "Reclaim the Joy," a day of advocacy launched by New York State United Teachers.

Union organizers stayed on script for a rally where individuals brought their own words on what is ailing public education.
