GUILDERLAND — William P. “Willie” Hauser, whose sisters described him as a kind-hearted protector, died unexpectedly at his Guilderland home on Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was 37.

Born in Albany on Sept. 19, 1981, he was the son of Barbara Hauser of Johnstown, and William Delligan of Delanson.

Town Planner Kenneth Kovalchik wants to encourage the development of senior independent-living facilities along Western Avenue, where residents could walk to doctors’ offices, coffee shops, and bus stops.

GUILDERLAND — Two teens face felony burglary charges for stealing tobacco products from two gas stations in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 2, according to a release from New York State Police.

The track-and-field teams of Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville competed in a two-day Section II state-qualifier event at Shenendehowa High School last Thursday and Friday, hoping to qualify for the state competition this coming Friday and Saturday in Middletown.

Right off the bat, the Guilderland’s baseball team had momentum, scoring a run at the start of its Class AA sectional semifinal on Thursday evening at the Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy against top-seeded Niskayuna. But rain delayed the game till Friday afternoon, and the Dutch did not score again.
