GUILDERLAND — Water service was restored on Sunday after a water main broke on Saturday afternoon near Route 155 and Regency Park in Guilderland.

“This is a budget about sustaining what we have,” said Guilderland schools Superintendent Marie Wiles of next year’s spending proposal.

Nadia Raza, the owner of Curry Patta, would still have to come back before the Altamont Planning Board for an amendment to her permit to allow for outdoor entertainment at her restaurant as well as to enlarge the Pakastani eatery into the new addition. 

Two separate tremors were recorded five kilometers west southwest of the village, according to the United States Geological Survey website. The first occurred at 6:22 p.m. with a magnitude of 1.9 and a depth of 13.2 kilometers. The second occurred at 6:39 p.m. with a magnitude of 2.0 and a depth of 13.9 kilometers.

ALTAMONT — Myrtle Sweet Murray, who was dedicated to her family, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Altamont with her late husband, Owen Murray. She was 94.

GUILDERLAND — William D. Ackner of Guilderland, an electronics technician for General Electric, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He was 88.

“We don’t necessarily think office is going away. It’s going to change,” said Jeff Mirel, a principal with Rosenblum Development. “What we predict is more of a hybrid approach where office will become the center of workplace culture. It is where training will happen, where collaboration will happen. But folks may not be in the office every day of the week.”
