GUILDERLAND — Uncommon Grounds will open a café and coffeehouse at Stuyvesant Plaza late this year.

GUILDERLAND — Next Tuesday, July 27, the school board here will vote on a $17.4 million capital proposal — school district voters will have their say in the fall — and will also hear how federal funds will be spent.

The plaintiff, a 1974 Guilderland graduate, claims she was sexually abused as a sixth-grader by her teacher, Roderick Buckley. She told The Enterprise it made her lose her trust in teachers. “This action alleges physical, psychological, and emotional injuries suffered as a result of conduct which would constitute a sexual offense on a minor …,” state the papers filed with Albany County Supreme Court.

Crossgates is using last year’s argument in this year’s newest tax lawsuit against the town of Guilderland for why $162.5 million should be slashed from its current assessed value of $282.5 million.

One member of the advocacy group asserted that potential residents would be poor and therefore likely to commit crimes. The development is to be located on the front 11 acres of a 51-acre parcel, with the remaining acreage being donated to the Pine Bush Preserve.

The July 8 decision from state Supreme Court’s Third Appellate Division reverses a November 2020 decision by Albany County Supreme Court Judge Peter Lynch that stopped construction of a 222-unit apartment development on Rapp Road and proposed Costco Wholesale store on Western Avenue. 

ALTAMONT — All members of St. John’s Lutheran Church are invited to meet the pastoral candidate on Saturday, July 24, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 140 Maple Ave. in Altamont.

On Sunday, July 25, the candidate will officiate at a call to worship service at 9:30 a.m.
