ALTAMONT — An efficient and particular woman, Eileen Ruth McKenney put her family first, followed by her faith, friends, and community.

The school board dealt with a potpourri of issues Tuesday, mulling tax breaks, appointing a task force to look at re-purposing excess space, and applauding the middle school for being redisgnated a School to Watch.

During the Lenten season St. John's is using a special series called, "The Parables of Lent."  Each service in this series focuses on a biblical parable that connects to Lenten themes.  

St. John’s Lutheran Church at 140 Maple Ave. in Altamont will hold the following services:
Beginning with Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18, and continuing to Good Friday, April 3, the St. John's congregation will focus on a biblical parable at each service that connects to the overall penitential theme of Lent.
