GUILDERLAND — The daughter of a woman who died after a brief stay at the nursing home in Guilderland Center is suing The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland for no less than $10 million to be determined at trial.

Tears mixed with cheers at Guilderland’s 68th commencement ceremony as classmate Gabe Zullo, who died on May 29, was remembered. The graduates also heard words about the value of courage from their principal, about the value of seeing others’ perspectives from their superintendent, and got this advice from their keynote speaker who had graduated from Guilderland 18 years ago: “You don’t have to prove anything to anybody … You already are ‘somebody’.”

“Contrary to the statements of some that the roads would be given away, the money from the transaction goes to the Town,” said Donald Csaposs, the Guilderland IDA’s chief executive officer. “The I.D.A. collects no portion of that amount.”

GUILDERLAND — One motorcyclist was killed and another seriously injured in a Route 20 crash on Thursday morning.

A pickup truck was involved in the collision along with the two motorcycles, according to a release from the Guilderland Police, who got the call at about 6:50 a.m. on June 27.

This spring, Daniel Hershberg told Guilderland Planning Board members that the contamination plume runs through the center of the former Master Cleaners building, “then loops around and goes all the way down to the stream course at the back.”
