Guilderland library trustees voted unanimously to reopen the library — as coronavirus restrictions allow — while construction is underway for an $8 million upgrade. The director will present a reopening plan at the board’s next meeting, on Sept. 17.

ALTAMONT — “Monica Bush entered eternal rest on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020,” her family wrote in a tribute.

Newton T. Ronan

ALTAMONT — Newton T. Ronan of Altamont, a family man who contributed to many community groups, died on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020. He was 94.

GUILDERLAND — At about midnight on Friday, Sept. 4, two dirt bikes collided, causing serious injuries to both 21-year-old drivers.

On Sunday afternoon, Guilderland Police reported that one of the drivers died: Jonwilliam “Jon” P. Foreman of Loudonville.

Chris VanPatten, whose family owned a Guilderland farmhouse for nearly a century, before selling it five years ago, was sad to see it burn on Friday.
