The owner of The Apex at Crossgates apartment complex is asking an Albany County court to slash its assessed value by 88.5 percent, from about $28.5 million to $3.25 million.
The next step will be for Kenneth Kovalchik, the town’s planner, to draft a local law for the zoning changes on which the town board will vote at its next meeting.
The Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals on July 16 gave permission to Yesorno LLC, which owns and operates Happy Days Dispensary in Farmingdale, Nassau County, to open a similarly-named dispensary at 1656 Western Ave.
Residents who spoke during the recent town board meeting felt the plan did not say enough about preserving the Albany Pine Bush, but said too much about providing water to Altamont.
