GUILDERLAND — Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse has opened a third location at Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland.

How does a municipality located entirely inside of another municipality that saw a 4.4-percent population increase between 2010 and 2010 lose residents?

The Guilderland boys’ volleyball team traveled up to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to take on the Spartans Friday. The Dutch couldn’t get anything going against the brickwall defense of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake losing in straight sets; 11-25, 11-25, 10-25.

On September 2, the Guilderland girls volleyball faced off against Suburban Council foe in Saratoga at home. The Dutch shook off a rough start and the last four sets were an intense back and forth matchup. The Dutch fell three sets to two; 14-25, 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25.

At the grand opening of the new Phillips Hardware Store in Altamont from Sept. 10 to 12, a special “Bucket Sale” will be held to benefit local charities including STRIDE Adaptive Sports — a Capital Region not-for-profit that helps people with disabilities to live an active and healthy lifestyle.

GUILDERLAND — Walter J. Tymchyn Sr. was a hard worker — first, on his family’s farm and later for the town’s highway department — who always put his family first.

He “went to eternal rest, surrounded by his loving and devoted family on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 85.

Matthew Pinchinat was recently named as the director for diversity, equity, and inclusion — a new post for the Guilderland school district.
Diversity, explains Pinchinat in this week’s podcast at AltamontEnterprise.com/podcasts, means recognizing people not from our background, and includes differences in thought as well.
