WESTERLO Without releasing its full budget to the public, the Westerlo Town Board voted last week to accept its tentative budget as preliminary, with few changes to the $2.5 million budget it adopted last year.

Christopher Daughtery, 23, of Fulton, was arrested by the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 15 for setting fire to a barn in the town of Wright.
He was charged with third-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief.
The Schenectady Chess Club’s annual championship began on Oct. 14, with 15 players divided into two preliminary sections, which will play on Thursday nights. The top players in each section will then compete in a championship section.
GUILDERLAND The Pine Bush Commission’s 11-member board voted unanimously on Oct. 7 to adopt the 2010 management plan, which details its desire to increase the preserve’s land by over 2,000 acres.
