The town of Berne is inviting nominations for membership to the Board of the Game Farm Road Project.  This will be a working board comprised of seven individuals both eager and interested in the future of the property and its uses.

For our Girl Scout Silver Award project we, with Mr. Al Gaige’s assistance, built two bookshelves for the Berne-Knox-Westerlo pre-kindergarten students. We did this so that the children could learn how to read, as well as enjoy reading by the time they enter kindergarten.

Around town, you may be noticing the bright green signs in some local shops saying “We Are Guilderlocal!” This is not just another shop-local campaign.

This is us, as a business and community organization, trying to rally everyone to use your local vendors and help build us up as a community.

Bryan Best, who is running for Guilderland’s receiver of taxes on the Republican line, also wants to secure the Independence Party line and, along with his fellow Republicans, has launched a write-in campaign for Tuesday’s primary.

We have no problem with that. It’s always good to give voters a choice.
