On Friday morning, Feb. 23, Guilderland’s Billy Pokeda competed against New York’s best in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's wrestling championships in the 285-pound weight class.

On Saturday, Feb. 10, Guilderland and Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh wrestling teams competed in the 2024 Section 2 wrestling state qualifiers in Glens Falls.

Last Thursday, Jan. 18, the Guilderland Dutchmen traveled to Averill Park to battle the Warriors. The Dutch competed hard in every match but fell 54 to 15.

On Friday, Dec. 1, the Guilderland and Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh wrestling teams competed in the Columbia Duals in a two day event at Columbia High School.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, Guilderland wrestling hosted and competed in the Section 2 Division 1, Class 1 sectional championships. Fourteen wrestlers battled all of Class 1 wrestlers in order to qualify for this Saturday’s state qualifiers at Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls.

On Saturday, Jan. 7, the Guilderland wrestling team took part in the Jamie Mormile Invitational at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. Out of the twelve, five of them finished in the top five with three winning championships.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo-Middleburgh and Guilderland Dutchmen took part in the seven duel matches against the 10 different teams in the Columbia Duels held at Columbia High School in Rensselaer on the weekend of Dec. 2.

On Sunday morning, Feb. 6, the Guilderland Dutchmen wrestling squad competed in the Class A sectional championships at Shaker High School in Latham. The nine wrestlers battled for a ticket to the state competition at the MVP Arena in Albany.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Guilderland Dutchmen wrestling team traveled to Columbia High School in East Greenbush for the Columbia Blue Devil Round Robin tournament. The 12 Dutch wrestlers wrestled well with six of them finishing in the top three.

On Thursday Mar. 11, the Guilderland varsity wrestling team traveled to Averill Park High School in their season finale of the shortened season. No team score was kept so that all the wrestlers could get on the mat and not receive a forfeit. Some Dutch wrestlers went twice.
