Photos: Seven Dutchmen Will Battle for a ticket to States

On Sunday morning, Feb. 6, the Guilderland Dutchmen wrestling squad competed in the Class A sectional championships at Shaker High School in Latham. The nine wrestlers battled for a ticket to the state competition at the MVP Arena in Albany. Guilderland finished fifth overall with 106.5 points and will send seven to next week's competition.

No match: Guilderland’s Myles White battles Saratoga’s Chase Matter in the quarterfinals of the 126-pound weight class. White pinned Matter in 1:11 and finished second overall.

Using his strength: Guilderland’s Dillon Blanchard powers Columbia’s Peyton Carey in the quarterfinal matchup in the 189-pound class. Blanchard won by pin in 1:30 and won the weight class.

Friendly matchup: Guilderland teammates Antonio Cipullo, left, battles Vincent Morizio in the quarterfinal matchup in the 215-pound class. Morizio won 1-0 then finished fourth overall, teammate Cipullo finished fifth.
