On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh and Guilderland brought their wrestlers up to the Cool Insuring Arena for the Section 2 state qualifier tournament. All seven Guilderland wrestlers placed, none qualified for states, and BKW fell in the first round.

On Saturday, Feb. 12, seven Guilderland Dutchmen and three Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh wrestlers competed against all Section 2 teams to earn a spot at the state competition later this month at the MVP Arena.

Athletes from Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Guilderland took their talents to the state level this past weekend in wrestling, at Albany’s Times Union Center, on Friday and in gymnastics, at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island on Saturday.

Ten Guilderland wrestlers along with one Berne-Knox-Westerlo wrestler who competed on Saturday in Glens Falls will be taking the next step toward the state competition on Feb. 28 to 29 at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state tournament in Albany.
