ALTAMONT – The village’s own Mio Vino Wine Bar and Bistro is hosting a Farm to Table Expo at Orsini Park on Sept. 14, where visitors can meet local purveyors and enjoy free barbecue.

Produce grown on the Barber Farm in Middleburgh is available behind Passonno Paints on Western Ave.

After several years of entering, Robert Price won first place in the chili contest on Jan. 25 at the annual day of sledding, hot dogs, chili, and neighbors in the Knox Town Park.

ALTAMONT — The Altamont Community Tradition organization will host its 12th annual Victorian Holiday Celebration in the village next weekend, offering house tours, shopping, wine tastings, and a visit from Santa.

GUILDERLAND — Local restaurateur Sam Pontillo has settled in as general manager of the Blu Stone Bistro in Loudonville.

Lance Moore, whose family has been involved with theater for many generations, is part of a real-life drama as he rescued a historic inn in Freehold to open a restaurant, and now awaits regular local patrons.

The Blue Ribbon Cooking Center, under the direction of Monica Bush, will hold the usual contests, particularly the canned-goods competition, titled “Bring Out Your Best,” with awards from Ball and Kerr Home Canning. 

 

Recently, I have been out and about for various functions.  These functions were for various occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and other social gatherings.

I confess.

My keyboard, I can see as I type this, has food in the cracks between the letters — crumbs from yesterday’s lunch, pieces of popcorn from a midnight snack a few days ago as we put the paper together for publication.
