The Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling team had its first in-person match against Canajoharie on Nov. 29. Last year, all bowling teams had virtual matches under pandemic restrictions. BKW boys lost, 4 to 0 (2731-2011), and the girls fell, 3 to 1 (1948-1915).

On Friday, Nov. 5, Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Middleburgh, Guilderland and Voorheesville cross-country teams competed in the Section 2 cross-country championships at Saratoga State Park. Voorheesville girls won Class C with 29 points while the boys finished fourth with 146.

The Section 2 girls swimming sectionals took place at the Aquatic Center at Shenendehowa High School for a three-day event. Guilderland-Voorheesville finished seventh with 105 points in Division 1 and Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg won its first ever sectional title with 343 points.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg boys soccer team opened up their Section 2 Class C sectional on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, at home and faced off against Cambridge on the pitch. BKW-Duanesburg led from the start and won 4-to-0.

On Saturday, Oct. 9, Helderberg Valley football team, made up of students from Duanesburg and Berne-Knox-Westerlo, took on Stillwater at Duanesburg Elementary School in Delanson. Helderberg Valley couldn’t muster any offense on the powerful Stillwater defense and lost 53-to-0.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo-Duanesburg girls swim team hit the pool at Mohonasen High School on Oct. 5 to take on the Albany Academy for Girls. BKW-Duanesburg swam to a 95-to-71 win.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls soccer team faced off against Western Athletic Conference’s Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at home on Sept. 24. The Bulldogs had their chances in the first half but one small deflection in the second helped them get a 1-0 win.

On Thursday, Sept. 16, Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls volleyball team traveled to Mekeel Christian Academy in Scotia to face off against the Lions. The Bulldogs were short handed due to COVID quarantine. The Bulldogs fell in straight sets 15-25, 17-25, 12-25.

On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, September 11th, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Guilderland, and Voorheesville cross-country teams took part in the Blackbird Invitational at Swift Town Park in New Scotland. The Voorheesville girls won the Division 2 title, the boys took 12th.

On Friday, August 27, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s golf team traveled to Hopson Hills Golf Course in Dolgeville to take on Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville. The Bulldogs won 13 to 2 over the small Wolves team which was cut short to six holes due to heat.
