Berne-Knox-Westerlo

The Little League field in Knox was dedicated to the late Lewis Tubbs, who groomed the field with care for decades.

It has been a bit of a struggle so far for the Schoburg football team.

Defending soccer champs Berne-Knox-Westerlo may have a new coach, but the team's philosophy remains intact. 

Back-to-school supplies and athletics funds were handed over from community organizations to local school districts.

In the elementary school, teachers are embracing the math modules set out by the state as guides for curricula. Throughout the district, administrators are hoping hires of teaching assistants and teaching coaches will set BKW on the right track with the Common Core standards.

Three schools, one team.

Jim Gillis felt like his soccer coaching at Berne-Knox-Westerlo was under the microscope of four sets of parents, so he decided to leave his post after 22 years. 

Going undefeated is hard to do, and the BKW Little League softball team did it.
