On Friday, Oct. 31, the fifth-seeded Voorheesville girls’ volleyball traveled to the fourth-seeded Maple Hill in the quarterfinals of the Section 2, Class C sectional tournament at Maple Hill High School. The Blackbirds fell in straight sets; 11-25, 19-25, 23-25.

Last Wednesday, Oct. 29, the third-seeded Voorheesville Blackbirds took on second-seeded Schuylerville in the Section 2, Class B semifinals at Niskayuna High School. The Black Horses finally beat the Blackbirds’ defense and the Blackbirds fell 1-0.

On Friday, Oct. 24, the Voorheesville girls’ tennis team took to the road to Drumlin Country Club to take on Section III’s Oneida. The Blackbirds fell, 5 to 0.

Last Wednesday, Oct. 22, the Voorheesville boys’ soccer team kicked off their Section 2, Class B sectional run, as the sixth seed, by playing against Taconic Hills. The Birds sprinted past the Titans 7 to 0, then fell, 2 to 1, to Mechanicville on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Voorheesville boys’ golf teams battled in the Section 2 Class CD sectionals at Fairways of Halfmoon in hopes to move onto next weeks’ second round.
