My name was used without permission

To the Editor:

I will be retiring after 40 years of service as the town clerk to the town of Rensselaerville.

I have learned that the Republican candidates for the town of Rensselaerville have used my name in their campaign literature.

Although it is nice to be appreciated, it would have been nice if they asked me first before they used my name, and in no way should it suggest that I support or endorse any of these candidates.

Editor’s note: Although Hallenbeck said she has not actually seen the literature she’s heard of, at least one candidate confirmed using her name in a flyer but said it was not intended to be an endorsement.

Hallenbeck is an enrolled Democrat.
