To the Editor:

The Knox Fire Company has held a memorial service each year since the 9-11 tragedy in 2001.  This year’s service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 pm, behind the Knox firehouse in the hamlet of Knox.

The service has varied in content and in attendance since the first year we held it in 2002, but it has always been a meaningful time to remember the people who lost their lives, and the profound effect the event had on all of us.

Several speakers and members of the public will provide their thoughts, and the Knox Town Band will provide music.  Everyone is invited to attend, including neighboring fire companies, law enforcement, military, and emergency workers.
