ORLANDO ST. JOHN DIED
SUDDENLY ON TUESDAY
Orlando St. John, age 78, died suddenly of heart failure on Tuesday morning, February 24th, a little before nine o’clock.
He felt somewhat better than usual that morning and had walked up from his home and through Maple Avenue to make his accustomed call at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Westfall, which he did quite often.
While seated and in conversation with Mrs. Westfall she suddenly noticed him making a peculiar sound and rushed to his side calling her husband, who came hurriedly from an adjourning room.
A doctor was called immediately, but he had expired at once. He leaves a wife and other relatives, an only son having died some time ago.
The funeral service was held this afternoon at his late residence.
QUAKER STREET
Mrs. A. J. Schloop and her two small children, who have been under quarantine for the required time for scarlet fever, will be out the early part of the coming week, we are informed.
EAST GALLUPVILLE
Winter must be broken as the woodchucks have been seen in this vicinity; also robins have been seen by several people.
EAST COEYMANS HOLLOW

MEADOWDALE
Myron Crounse had an accident recently. He fell from the motor car and bruised his legs and body. We hope for a speedy recovery.
VILLAGE NOTES
Mrs. Stanley HIlton entertained with four tables of bridge at her home Saturday afternoon. Favors were dainty pink baskets filled with salted nuts.
SOUTH THOMPSON’S LAKE
Do not forget the donation at East Berne hall for the benefit of Thompson’s Lake new church funds, March 6th. Everybody come and help make it a success.
PARKER’S CORNERS
A Nash roadster belonging to and driven by William Bond of Schenectady was destroyed by fire on Friday evening in the driveway of his brother George’s home here. Mr. Bond attributed the loss to back firing of his engine.
THREE MILE CENTER
Ernest McCafferty butchered a fine bunch of porkers last week which he sold to a man out of town.
McCORMACK’S CORNERS
— The community dances which are given by E. McCormack have certainly been a success. Although they were given for the neighbors, who enjoyed them, it seems as though McCormack’s Corners might stretch from Berne to Schenectady by the attendants at the dance Saturday night (They are always welcome). About thirty couples in all spent a most delightful evening.
— Any one knowing the where abouts of James (Whity) Schultz kindly call 301-F-21 Schenectady. It will be appreciated.
