Berne and Vicinity

— On Sunday, April 18th at 2:30 p.m. the Woman’s auxiliary of the Berne Reformed church will have their annual public meeting in the Reformed church. It will be an occasion of unusual interest as the Rev. Loman J. Shafer, a missionary from Japan, now on a furlough, is expected to speak. The work in Japan is of great interest and the address given will be of general information. A special invitation is extended to the people of the community, as it is desired to have a good audience in attendance. Mr. Shafer is an excellent speaker, well worth hearing.

— Owing to so much sickness the Ladies Aid meeting has been postponed until Wednesday, April 14, when they will hold an all-day meeting in the Lutheran church hall. Please bring a covered dish.
