After Route 20 crash, one motorcyclist dead and another badly hurt

GUILDERLAND — One motorcyclist was killed and another seriously injured in a Route 20 crash on Thursday morning.

A pickup truck was involved in the collision along with the two motorcycles, according to a release from the Guilderland Police, who got the call at about 6:50 a.m. on June 27.

The driver of the truck was not injured. While one motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries, the release said.

The crash occurred in the area of 3925 Western Turnpike where Route 20 is two lanes in the more rural part of Guilderland.

Police are investigating the crash and asked anyone with information to call Sergeant Todd Roberts at 518-356-1501.

Guilderland Emergency Medical Services, the Altamont Fire Department, and the Albany County Crash Investigation team helped Guilderland Police at the scene.

The police said no further information is currently available.
