Ten-home cluster development proposed in Voorheesville

A 10-home cluster development is proposed near the intersection of Crow Ridge Road and Route 85A in New Scotland.

VOORHEESVILLE — A slightly-scaled-down version of a development first proposed in 2017 was recently before the village planning commission. 

The JJ Cillis Group is looking to build a 10-home development on 18.5 acres of land near the intersection of Crow Ridge Road and Route 85A.

The project, known as Serenity Subdivision, initially had been proposed as an 11-home traditional subdivision layout, but now the Cillis Group is seeking to construct a cluster subdivision, which requires 50 percent of the lot to be maintained as open space. 

At the Dec. 14 planning commission meeting, two of the major issues the commission said it wanted its engineer to address were the amount of earth to be moved around the site — it was told the project would be a balanced site, no dirt would be trucked in — and water: groundwater, wetland disturbances, and stormwater runoff.
