Stanley Homeyer

WESTERLO — Stanley “Stan” Homeyer, a mechanic who liked helping others repair their vehicles, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021. He was 67.
“Stanley was a kind man who was always there to help anyone,” his family wrote in a tribute.

He was born in Albany on April 14, 1954 to the late John and Huldah Mae Chase Homeyer. “Stan lived in various places, including the ‘Letter S,’ Route 85 in Voorheesville; Westerlo; East Berne; Fort Ann; and St. Petersburg, Florida,” his family wrote.

Mr. Homeyer attended Voorheesville schools before becoming a mechanic and working for Yank Waste in Albany. “He enjoyed helping others repair their vehicles and loved Ford trucks,” his family wrote.

Stanley Homeyer is survived by his son, Jeffrey Homeyer; by his siblings, Sandra Winters and her husband, Ed, of Cairo, Phillip Homeyer and his wife, Joyce, of Westerlo, and Mark Homeyer of Cairo; and by a host of nieces and nephews, including his roommate, Steve Sisson; and his friends, Pricilla and Ed.

His parents, John and Huldah Mae Chase Homeyer, died before him, as did his siblings and their spouses, Helen, who was married to Leland Sisson and Frank Hempstead, John Homeyer, and Roxanne Ciaccia who was married to Jimmy.

“There will be no services as per Stanley’s request, so let’s all raise a can and wish him a speedy journey to reunite with his family in Heaven,” the tribute said.
