These massive tanks for gasoline are now underground in what will become the parking lot for the expanded Stewart's Shop in Altamont. The new shop stands on land that had been zoned residential, which the Altamont Village Board changed to commercial so the parking lot could be enlarged and the former 2,700-square-foot store could be replaced by the new 3,340-square-foot shop.
