Making room for ‘new blood’ on planning board

To the Editor:

On Aug. 19, 2020, I announced my resignation from the Guilderland Planning Board after 20-plus years of service to the Guilderland Community. I enjoyed an active, positive, and rewarding experience as a member of the board.

During my tenure, I was able not only to bear witness to the dynamic growth within the town of Guilderland but also to have a voice in guiding and monitoring that growth.

The Guilderland Planning Board, under Steve Feeney’s leadership, has always received high marks for enforcing strict compliance with its standards and for offering creative solutions to complex problems.

We are now undoubtedly in a period of transition in both the Capital District and here in Guilderland. I feel that this is the right time for me to step down and to make room on the planning board for “new blood” and different perspectives on growth and development.

That being said, while I am no longer on the planning board, my intention is still to be active within the Guilderland Community.
