Knox Nursery School welcomes spring
KNOX — It’s spring and with it comes rain, robins, Easter, and vacation! We covered it all during April!
As we know, “April showers bring May flowers.” This saying was depicted on a wall at our school decorated with umbrellas with hanging raindrops, made by our 3-year-olds, and brightly colored tulips, made by our 4-year-olds.
Another sure sign of spring are robins. Adding to the classroom’s spring theme, we have robins in a tree and robins in nests.
Easter stories about Corduroy, the bear, and Clifford, the big red dog, are the kids’ favorites. Our Easter crafts included chicks with multicolored feathers, a bunny-shaped sun catcher, and bunny treat cups.
As is our tradition, the 4-year-olds hosted an Easter party for their grandparents. They made and mailed invitations. They worked very diligently to learn the bunny hop and a poem that they performed at the party wearing bunny-ears headbands, which, of course, they made!
Working together, the kids and grandparents completed crafts and colored a half-dozen eggs. Once all the “work” was finished, everyone enjoyed snacks and Easter treats.
Our alphabet journey is nearly complete. April’s letters were: U for unicorn, V for vase, and W for Worm. A week of vacation has re-energized us all! There is much to accomplish during our last six weeks of school.
We are currently accepting applications for all classes for the 2017-18 school year. Please contact the school at (518) 872-2015 for applications and information.
