“It was actively snowing for part of the time, but the cold is always a problem,” said Molgard. “Pieces of equipment do freeze up. We were able to get water fairly quickly on the fire but the fire was just too advanced. There wasn’t any real way to save the house.”
The Guilderland Zoning Board at its Feb. 4 meeting was presented with a proposal from Robert Abbatiello to build 18 units of housing for people 55 and older at 3400 Carman Road.
Guilderland’s latest agreement with Spectrum, it was noted on Jan. 20, includes for the first time a $25,000 public-access grant that will be used to improve the town’s broadcasting and information-technology infrastructure.
