David Taylor from Schenectady, serving with the 827th Engineer Company of the New York Army National Guard has been promoted to the rank of private.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

LATHAM — A man who helped generations of Siena College students serve urban youth, James E. Snyder died on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. He was 78.
The son of the late John and Katherine (née Walsh) Snyder was born on Dec. 25, 1935 in Elmhurst, N.Y.
