Tech Valley High School will be offering two additional information sessions for students interested in enrolling as ninth-graders in the fall. Eighth-graders must attend an information session with a guardian in order to apply to the school.

SCHENECTADY — Michael Hayes, of lower Broadway in Schenectady, died on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015. He was 57.

Mr. Hayes was born in Albany and attended the Berne-Knox-Westerlo schools. He moved to Schenectady, where he lived most of his adult life.

International Experience has visiting students, ages 15 to 18 from around the world who are seeking host families for the 2015-16 school year. Host families are needed for the fall semester and full school year.

Exchange student come from many countries including Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and Thailand.

ALBANY COUNTY — The Albany County Legislature has designated Feb. 1 through March 3 as an annual 30-day period within which a landowner may submit an application to have land included in one of the county’s three agricultural districts.
