Bruce W. Dearstyne, who grew up in Berne, surrounded by history, has included a chapter on the tenant farmers' rebellion in his new book on the spirit of New York.

A Slingerlands man was sentenced on May 19 in Bethlehem Town Court for driving while impaired by alcohol.

ALTAMONT — William and Kathy Johnson of Altamont are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Emaline Anna Johnson, to James Edward Bates, son of Julie and Robert McRobie of Oswego, New York, and Edward Bates of Baldwinsville, New York.

The Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District held its 30th annual tree and shrub sale this spring. Over 225 local residents planted 8,150 seedlings.  In the last decade, residents have planted over 137,300 trees in the last 10 years alone, through this program.  These trees and shrubs are sold bare root and vary in size.

“A neighbor in need would enjoy spending time with you,” states a release from the 20-year-old not-for-profit group.
