CLARKSVILLE — Alexander R. Grone, a physics professor at Hudson Valley Community College and an active freemason, died on Monday, May 4, 2015. He was 83. 

He was born in Danville, Pennsylvania on June 21, 1931, to Dr. Robert Y. and Ethyl (née Lloyd) Grone. 

From historic railroad beds to waterfalls and through farmlands, six hikes will showcase Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy preserves beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 20, during the organization’s first ever Summer Solstice Hike-a-thon. The event will precede the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail Summer Solstice Festival.

DELMAR — Organizers of the Summer Solstice Festival on the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail are seeking food trucks, crafts, artisanal food vendors and musicians for the fourth annual outdoor event, held this year on Saturday, June 20, from noon to 4 p.m.

Capital Region high school students may take part in a four-day camp this summer to learn about careers in technology.
