NEW SCOTLAND — Planning in the northeastern part of town, which encompasses the commercial zone at the center of recent debate over development, is slated to take a step forward.

VOORHEESVILLE — School tax rates for property owners in the Voorheesville School District are going up in the town of New Scotland and down in the towns of Guilderland and Berne.

NEW SCOTLAND — The town is considering a law that would allow it to charge property owners for the stabilization or removal of derelict buildings.

NEW SCOTLAND — The ethics law the town board passed in June is due for a public hearing on its first revision.

ALBANY COUNTY — Summer’s siren song calls people to the Helderberg escarpment every year.  This Saturday, it will be given a defined voice as Thacher Park hosts a day-long concert.

NEW SCOTLAND — Krumkill Road is open again and will likely move slightly to the south.
